about emma
Emma Ventura is a writer and editorial professional with a talent for delivering compelling multi-platform narratives around travel, culture, design and the outdoors. Having worked extensively for leading publishers in London and Sydney, she specialises in managing creative teams, rebranding existing titles, launching new editorial projects and helping companies identify and engage with audiences through impactful storytelling.
Currently freelance and contributing to a range of international publications, Emma is consulting editor to Departures and Centurion magazines, and editor-at-large for NetJets The Quarter Share magazine.
Until May 2023, Emma was editorial director of influential indie magazine SUITCASE, which won Consumer Publication of the Year at the 2022 Travel Media Awards in London. As a travel journalist with a strong interest in covering stories with environmental angles, she has tagged albatrosses on the Tasman Sea, sledged through the Norwegian back country, hiked on foot in South Africa's Kruger National Park and dived with endangered pelagic thresher sharks in the Philippines. However, Emma's head is just as easily turned by great food, wine and design. She was a long-term contributor to Sydney-based Gourmet Traveller, the editor of Jamie, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's international food, travel and lifestyle magazine, and the editor of ELLE Decoration City – a niche title focusing on European design destinations.
A runner, surf lover and snowboarder, Emma divides her time between London, Sydney and Italy's spectacular Valle d'Aosta.
